Mr. Rothman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, is Certified as a mediator by them and has served as a member of the Board of Managers of the New York Chapter. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Sections' Executive Committee for over a decade and is chair of 4 section committees. He is Co-Chair (emeritus) of the Interdisciplinary Forum of Mental Health and Family Law.
He is the author of Loving and Leaving-Winning at the Business of Divorce (Divorce Press). He has also been published in the Family Law Review, the New York State Bar Journal, Syracuse Law Review and has been quoted in the national press and been interviewed on radio and national television. He has been a frequent lecturer to many professional groups, including the American Bar Association, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (National and New York), Association of the Bar of the City of New York, American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychoanalysis and the American and the New York State Psychological Association. He has lectured at numerous Continuing Legal Education Programs presented by the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Rothman served for many years as the Acting Village Justice of the Village of Larchmont. He was formerly an Assistant United States Attorney, representing the Federal government and its various agencies in criminal prosecutions and civil litigation.
He is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in Business and Finance and Who's Who in the East.
Mr. Rothman is a cum laude graduate of the City College of the City of New York and received his JD degree from New York University School of Law. He is Counsel to Sankel, Skurman & McCartin, LLP.
He has competed in four New York City Marathons and still continues as a recreational runner.
