Terri L Weiss, Biographical Information
| Terri L. Weiss, Esq., who is in charge of the firm's matrimonial practice, was a litigator at two major New York City law firms following her graduation from Georgetown University's undergraduate and law programs. She limits her practice to significant matrimonial cases, representing both men and women in divorce, support, custody, property division, post-judgment enforcement, modification and relocation actions, and appeals. Although most matters are ultimately settled, even informal disclosure is managed so as to provide and obtain complete financial information. This allows the client to make informed decisions and protects the integrity of any settlement arrangement. Ms. Weiss seeks pragmatic and creative solutions, while at the same time ensuring that the client's rights (whether that client is the titled or non-titled spouse) are adequately protected. Ms. Weiss personally handles all her cases. Where necessary, health care professionals, accountants and other legal specialists (including tax and trusts and estates attorneys) from other firms and jurisdictions are consulted and/or retained to ensure that clients receive the full gamut of services required to protect their particular interests. Realistic expectations and cost/benefit analyses are regularly examined with the client in order to provide sophisticated, sensible and efficient representation. Due consideration is also made to the economic and emotional toll that the issues relevant to each particular case may exact upon the parties and their children. Ms. Weiss is a graduate of Georgetown University (A.B. 1978) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D. 1981). She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is on the Board of Editors of the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Matrimonial Strategist. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association, and is an active member of the Matrimonial Committee of the Westchester Women's Bar Association, as well as the Family Law Section of the Westchester County Bar Association. She is a frequent lecturer and has authored a variety of articles in the field of matrimonial law. Click below for additional information on:
